Dr Phumza Ndaleni’s interests involve quantifying fish trophic interactions and community structures which includes the influence of predation, prey availability and habitat in shaping fish distribution and abundance in freshwater and the estuarine environments. Dr Ndaleni uses functional response experiments, feeding morphological structures, and dietary analysis to measure competition for food resources. She is also an expert in fish reproductive studies.
