Technical and field support to the Acoustic Tracking Array Platform

Position: Marine Instrument Technician: South African Institute for Aquatic Biodiversity

Matt joined SAIAB in 2017, working in the Acoustic Tracking Array Platform (ATAP). Matt provides technical support to the ATAP in terms of managing the national array of acoustic receivers deployed in the ocean and in numerous estuaries which monitor the presence of animals fitted with acoustic transmitters. Matt also supports internal and external research programs through assistance with surgical implantation of acoustic transmitters in study animals.
